Chell has a face!!! Sort of. I'm very excited, because the main work on the body of the new Chell rig is done, and we're on to starting the face rig! This version has nothing more than jaw control and eyelids. No brow movement, no lips, nothing else, and yet she can already give that wistful stare off into the distance, like she's thinking of all the wonderful expressions she'll make once she can move the rest of her face. And lest we forget, she's moving her hair! Because now her hair moves! I'm so excited!!! I get this way at least once a week!!! Because we're constantly moving forward!!! Squeeee!!!
Thanks again to Richard Terry Clark for his excellent character modeling, And many thanks to Scott Englert for the great pains he's taking to rig Chell so beautifully! (Oh, and thanks Jiayu Liu and Matthew Lee for the modeling and rigging, respectively, of the Dual Portal Device!)
Modeled in Max, rigged/posed/lit/rendered in Maya, "background" and color adjustment in Photoshop.
And holy crap, this project now has Valve's approval to move forward and even raise funds to produce this film!!!
Cheerio!
